The most flexible and reliable option is Kuranda Transfers, which offers premium private, door-to-door transfers between Kuranda and all Cairns locations. Another great option is Coral Coast Transport, offering a convenient 11-seater shuttle bus service departing the Kuranda Visitor Information Centre at 3:30 PM and Rainforestation at 3:40 PM, Saturday and Sunday only. This service provides comfortable drop-offs to key locations including Skyrail’s Smithfield Terminal, Yorkeys Knob Cruise Terminal, Cairns Airport, Cairns Night Markets, Cairns Cruise Ship Terminal, and selected city-side hotels and resorts. Pre-booked and prepaid tickets are essential for the shuttle to operate. Please note that no on-the-spot or cash sales are accepted.

The Trans North Bus and Coach service also connects Cairns and Atherton with stops in Kuranda Village. Departure times vary, with the last bus leaving Kuranda for Cairns at 2:40pm Monday to Saturday.

Taxis and Uber are another option, but availability is inconsistent and fares can be expensive, with minimum charges from around $140 between Cairns and Kuranda.
