Getting to KurandaTransfers and Buses

There are several ways to get to and from Kuranda, allowing you to customise your day to suit your itinerary and budget. Please note it’s important to pre-plan your travel, as public transport options are limited and can book out quickly.

Coral Coast Transport offers private transfers to and from anywhere in Cairns and surrounding areas, available 24/7, giving you complete flexibility to travel when and where it best suits your plans. Bookings are essential with a minimum 24 hours notice and can be made here.

The Trans North Bus and Coach service also connects Cairns and Atherton with stops in Kuranda Village. This is a hail-and-ride service, which cannot be pre-booked and requires payment in Australian dollars (no cards). Departure times vary, with the last bus leaving Kuranda for Cairns at 2:40pm Monday to Saturday.

Taxis and Uber are another option, but availability is inconsistent and fares can be expensive, with minimum charges from around $140 between Cairns and Kuranda.
