Skyrail is a unique rainforest experience taking you on an unforgettable journey over and through Australia’s World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforests. Spanning 7.5km, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway traverses the McAlister Range, through the Barron Gorge National Park, immersing you in the sights, sounds, smells and tranquillity of the ancient rainforest between its Smithfield and Kuranda Terminals.

At Red Peak, join regular guided boardwalk tours with a Skyrail Ranger as they share their knowledge of this ancient environment. The Rainforest Discovery Zone provides incredible insights into this intriguing landscape whose prehistoric ancestry dates back approximately 130 million years! Navigate the evolutionary history of the Earth via the illuminated timeline that snakes its way along the ceiling; discover amazing facts, flora and fauna of the rainforest displayed within the engaging floor to ceiling interpretive panels and immerse yourself in Australia’s most realistic jungle habitat of the primordial cassowary.

The Rainforest Interpretive Centre at Barron Falls provides a fun and informative learning experience for people of all ages. Visit the Historical Precinct and the innovative Edge Lookout that provides unimpeded views from the waterfall face, down along the gorge. The Edge Lookout also features a glass-floored ‘nerve tester’ inviting guests to stand on a transparent section of boardwalk suspended some 160 metres above the gorge.
