Kuranda Rainforest Accommodation Park is situated on 9 acres of lush rainforest only a 2 minute drive from the village of Kuranda. The park comprises a mixture of accommodation and sites, along with a swimming pool, camp kitchen, and a restaurant which is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5.30pm.
We have 3 Studio Rainforest Cabins, each with a queen bed and single bed, and 2 x 1 bedroomed Family Rainforest Cabins, with a queen bed, queen sofa bed and a set of bunk beds. Each cabin is fully self contained with linen provided, and all our cabins are positioned away from the main road of the park for seclusion. Our 4 Poolside Units are more central and overlook the pool. These can sleep between 2-4 people, and are again fully self contained and beautifully positioned to enjoy the ambience of the pool and restaurant.
Our budget accommodation is a private 8 room lodge, comprising of 5 single rooms, 1 double room and 2 family rooms. All accommodation is supplied with cutlery/crockery and linen and share the bathrooms and kitchen facilities. There are a number of communal tables in the centre of the lodge to enjoy the company of multinational travellers that frequent the lodge throughout the year.
In our camping section we have a number of powered and unpowered sites, which can cater for Caravans through to Tent Sites.There are a number of drive through sites all with concrete slabs and smaller shaded site for campervans and tents. In the winter, we often have camp fires just near the camp kitchen, so you can sit around and keep warm and chat with fellow travellers and our local residents. There is also an onsite laundry, Unisex shower and toilet block, and a main amenities block divided into male and female showers and toilets.
The wonderful Kuranda Veranda Restaurant is run by Richard and Tara, open 5 nights a week from 5.30pm, and takes the worry out of preparing meals after a long day of travelling. They have a very good set menu, along with nightly specials , and locally made cakes and desserts to polish your meal off with. It is BYO, but they do serve coffee and tea and also cater for children. Bookings essential on 0412 215 740. You won’t be disappointed!
Our local Dr Dave, runs the night walks within the park from 7.00pm with advance notice. He is a qualified biologist and will show you the wildlife and fauna for $25 per person, adult or child. Worth a look if you’d like to learn a little more about our area.
