There are two very economical bus services that travel between Cairns and the Tablelands. The bus is ideal for those who have enjoyed the experience of travelling to Kuranda on either the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail, and wish to return another day. Bus Service Route 850 continues on to Mareeba and Atherton. Bus Service Route 851 travels between Cairns and Kuranda.

It is also a cash only service with tickets purchased from the bus driver. The service can also drop people directly to the airport on request, when they travel from Kuranda to Cairns.
Another option is to ride with a Taxi (131 008) or Uber from Cairns to Kuranda, or Ride Share which is a 7-day service – call 1300 743 374.
