Bob’s Woodart Gallery

Bob’s WoodArt was started in the Kuranda markets in the late 1990’s, and stayed for several years, until they purchased the shop at 8-24 Coondoo street around 2000.

Most of their timbers was sourced from salvaged logs and unusable pieces from local mills, which were active in the area.

Their motto is “Turn don’t Burn” as so much of the logs were wasted and were really great timber.

They mill the pieces ourselves and carefully season and dry, before crafting into the many pieces we make in our Rainforest studio.

A visit to their shop displays what is available and features timbers such as Red Seder, Silky Oak, Maple Silkwood, Rose Mahogany, Black Walnut, and varies Burrs such as Red Gum, Coolabah, Yellow Box, Ironwood and Huon Pine.

They also make kitchen boards in Camphor laurel for healthy cooking.

We are well worth a look if you like wood and craft.

Paintings by Folk art artist Mary is also available,

Make sure you drop into see Bob and Mary at Bob’s Woodart when you next visit Kuranda Village.
