Buses in Kuranda

There are two very economical bus services which travel between Cairns and Kuranda. They offer locals residents the means to travel to both work and school, but can also offer a cheap alternative to visitors traveling to and from the village. They are ideal for people who have enjoyed the experience of traveling to Kuranda on both the train and Skyrail and whom wish to return for another day.

Their operating times vary slightly from day to day and are best confirmed by contacting the visitor information centre. The only problem is that unfortunately, they operate on the basis of first in best dressed, so if you are able to purchase a return ticket on your upward journey this will give you some guarantee that you will definitely have a seat when you return. They are also able to drop people directly to the airport on request when they travel from Kuranda to Cairns. Unfortunately, though, they are unable to collect people from the airport on their upward journey to Kuranda.
