Opened May 2002, Kuranda Koala Gardens is a great wildlife experience right in the heart of the Kuranda Village at the Heritage Markets.

For those with limited time it’s a great place to come and meet some real Australians. Visitors can ‘Cuddle a Koala’. For just a small extra cost this includes the cuddling experience plus a quality digital photo to remember the experience! Also included in the gardens is a large freshwater crocodile display, Australia’s first Walk through “Reptile House”, tame wallabies, great wombats, lizards, a Pioneer History display and more.

A Free shuttle bus operates from the Skyrail and Kuranda Train stations every 10 - 15 minutes. Kuranda Koala Gardens is part of the Kuranda Wildlife Experience.

Admission is from $15 per adult. Open daily 9am–4pm (closed Christmas Day)

Our visitors are eligible for discounts to Cairns Tropical Zoo, Cairns Night Zoo and Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures.
