Community Services in Kuranda
The community is well serviced by medical practitioners, a pharmacy and therapists using traditional and alternative treatments. The veterinary clinic and Ambulance station are on the outskirts of the village. Child care and all levels of schooling are catered for, and a Neighbourhood Centre supports families. Many service clubs provide community facilities. There is a well stocked Information Centre, and a Library with Internet facilities is adjacent to the Council Car Park.
The Police Department and religious groups of a number of denominations have historic buildings worth a look. Post Office, banking, ATMs and transport services are an important part of life in the busy village, as is the Kuranda Paper. Transport into, out of and around the Village is by road, rail and Skyrail gondolas.
